Description

HISTORY OF THIS COCKTAIL

The French Martini was invented in the 1980s at a Bar in New York City and it can still be found there to this day. It next appeared on a drinks menu at a Bar in Soho in 1996. The Cocktail was produced during the 1980s–1990s Cocktail Renaissance.

The French Martini helped to kick off the flavoured Martini craze of the 1990s
This cocktail is emblematic of the era’s preference for fruity and sweet drinks, especially those with Martini in the name.

The part that makes this Cocktail French is the Chambord Raspberry Liqueur.
It is the key ingredient in this cocktail, and it is made from black raspberries, honey, vanilla and herbs. It has been made for about 300 years in France (since 1685) and is a sweet, all-natural liqueur. Unlike other synthetic flavoured liqueurs, Chambord is versatile in cocktails and is relatively light in alcohol.

The Chambord, along with the pineapple juice, add a rich fruity flavour to this Cocktail. When shaken hard with plenty of ice, the pineapple juice creates a pleasantly creamy mouthfeel and a frothy head.
